Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage. ~ Anäis Nin

My approach to therapy incorporates techniques from the expressive arts, counseling, and body-centered practices to support mental health and wellness.

Expressive Arts Therapy

With the support of the therapist, clients engage with art materials and other creative modalities to give shape to their experiences. The focus is on making art and what we can learn from the process as we bring it into form. From here, clients identify inner resources to draw on for meeting difficulty, making change, and awakening possibility. We don’t need to be expert artists to find meaning and joy in the creative process. Something special happens when we allow ourselves to be surprised by what emerges through the arts.

No previous artistic experience is required!

Counseling

Whether embarking on a journey of self-discovery, facing a life challenge, or seeking new ways to actualize personal/professional growth, talking with a mental health counselor can help people gain insight and cultivate well-being. If you are feeling stuck, facing major changes, wanting to address emotional pain from experiences in your life, or if you are looking for imaginative forms of self-inquiry, you are welcome here. My goal is to support your efforts toward healing in a warm, safe, and judgement free environment.

I work with individuals and groups.

Body-centered

Our bodies, as well as our minds, hold the history of our experience. And sometimes, if that history is troubling, it can manifest in the body as stress or anxiety, affecting the balance of our physical well-being. From my training and practice as a massage therapist for nearly 20 years, and my current understanding of somatic embodiment and self-regulation techniques, I aim to support clients in body awareness to cultivate balance and peace of mind.
