Greetings,

Thank you for taking time to learn more about me and my work. I earned my master’s degree in expressive arts therapy with a minor in psychology at the European Graduate School (EGS) in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. I also hold an associate mental health license (LMHCA) with the state of Washington. At EGS, I had the good fortune to study with many of the pioneers of expressive arts therapy. I have a keen interest in the topics of loss, grief, and bereavement and how the expressive arts can be a useful tool in shaping those experiences.

In addition to being an expressive arts therapist and an LMHCA, I have a background in bodywork. In 2005, I studied massage therapy at the Port Townsend School of Massage and became a licensed massage therapist (LMP). During my years as a massage therapist, I became curious about the ways the body holds and releases stress and how one’s emotional landscape is tied to this phenomenon. This led me to seek training in somatic embodiment and self-regulation techniques to learn new approaches for processing trauma.

My path as a therapist was paved by my years as a theatre artist, educator, and facilitator. I received an acting scholarship for my undergraduate studies at the University of LaVerne, focusing on educational theatre. I’ve worked internationally using the arts and experiential learning techniques to teach people creative approaches for enlivening groups. I've been an actor and a drama educator within professional and regional theatre companies for over 30 years both in southern California and in the Pacific Northwest.

At home, I enjoy spending time with friends over a home cooked meal and working with my hands in the garden. Hiking, running, swimming, skiing, and travel have all been a routine part of my self-care over the years. I love to explore my creativity in my home studio by painting, dancing, and writing.
